Lubrication service manual for Jinma Woodchipper

*You will need the included Parts Manual to use alongside this manual.
*Tighten all bolts and nuts before using. Check chipper for stray nuts, bolts, washers, etc^ before running. Failure to do so can result in damage to chipper and severe injury or death to person(s) using chipper!

1)     Find yellow cover of in-feed disengagement shaft- (Parts 1-19 in the parts book.) Remove this cover by removing the six holding bolts and nuts, and the pin on top of handle. These bolts use a 13 mm wrench or ratchet to remove.   See Figure A.

2.    Grease points on infeed shaft and gear box. For the u-joints on each end of shaft, you will have to use a spray form of grease such as White Grease.  See Figure B.

*shoot grease into fitting until you see it coming out of end of shaft between shaft and Spring for drive knob on left side of shaft.
* Any standard size grease gun will work for this grease fitting.

3.    Check level of oil in green grease box. Remove white plug in top of box. Oil level should cover the gears. Use a gear oil such as 85W140. The brand and weight does not matter as much; just use a good quality light gear oil found at any store in which oils are sold.

4.     Replace yellow cover with six holding bolts. Do not over tighten bolts.
The process is simple and should not take over 10 to 15 minutes. You can use any type of grease, but the higher the quality of grease, the better service you will get. Also, the weight and brand of oil for the gear box does not matter; just use a light weight gear oil. You should repeat this process often to preserve the quality of this shaft. The joints will wear quicker if not kept lubed.

There is additional grease fittings located in various spots of wood chipper. These should be greased as needed. See parts manual for any additional instructions.
